The readers of your website come there for a reason. You have great knowledge or things to share with them that they take interest in. Do they come to your website as often as you update it with new useful content for them, or do they not check back to your website because they don’t know when something new is shared?
The importance of keeping your website readers updated is huge to you and to them. They want to know when new information is available or discussed and you want to be able to keep sharing with them and to keep them updated constantly. So much of the web traffic that big websites and blogs receive comes from visitors coming back to the website that visit on a semi-frequent to frequent basis.

Most of these websites don’t just get tons of new readers everyday, they have good and useful content on their website, and have visitors coming back for more. Some visitors will bookmark the website automatically and check back when they think to do so. Some visitors will just remember the website address and come back when they feel like or want to visit. These websites that build massive amounts of web traffic also have easily available subscription or RSS feeds that website visitors can subscribe to and utilize. This helps the visitors stay updated and helps the website to keep people coming back to see what is new each time the website is updated.
A lot of websites use RSS feeds which will update any subscriber of a new post or article that has been added to a website they subscribed to. A lot of great applications make it easy for internet users to have all of their subscription feeds in one place so each time they are at the computer they can see what is new from their favorite websites and blogs. Using Twitter can also provide the same performance. Sending out a Tweet each time you have added something useful and new to your website can let your followers know to come to your website and check it out. This is an easy way for people to stay connected to websites, blogs, and businesses.
The connection between websites and website users is vital. The website visitors want information and the websites want to deliver that information. If they have a connection such as RSS, subscriptions, and networking such as Twitter, it makes it easy and fast for communication to take place. If you want to build web traffic to your website or blog, you must give your readers an option to subscribe to something that allows them to easily stay updated. This will contribute to more web traffic and repeat visitors to your website, while helping your readers at the same time.

Tracking your website visitors is very important to do as a webmaster or blogger. Information to track about your visitors is easily available and vital to understanding the traffic of your website. Knowing where most of your visitors come from, how long your website visitors stay on your website, what pages they have viewed on your website, and what content on your website is the most popular are some of the things you can track to learn about and adjust to help the success of your website.
Programs like Google Analytics and many others make all of this fast and easy to track. It is free to use and important to understand the traffic on your website. Learning where most of your website’s traffic comes from can help you know what sources are working the best for you. You can then be more efficient by not wasting time promoting your website in ways that just are not working well. When you see what methods and sources are really bringing more web traffic to your website, you can understand what you should be doing more to promote your website or blog.
When you learn what pages on your website are viewed the most, you can understand how other people view your website and where they go from first arriving to your website. Lets say a lot of people are leaving your website from the first page that they arrive at. One high possibility would then be that your website isn’t easy to navigate. Try listing tabs for a menu in a easily visible spot to help your website’s visitors. Add a list of your content that is organized and makes your content easy to find for whatever it is that people want to find. Doing this would help lead your visitors around your website and increase the amount of time that people stay on your website.
Knowing what content on your website is most popular can also help you a lot. It gives you direct feedback about what the majority of your readers find useful or interesting. When you know important things like these, you can know what topics are critical to keep evaluating on and delivering helpful, useful, or interesting similar topics on your website because that is what your visitors are interested in.
If you are not using tracking of your website visitors or some form of analytics, then simply put, you are not making the most out of your website or blog. When you do, you can learn so much and improve the quality of your website and the amount of traffic to your website. Knowing what promotion methods are increasing the popularity of your website is priceless. If you are blind in doing so, you are of course wasting some of your valuable time. Efficiency is vital. Use an analytics program and track the visitors of your website. You will be glad that you did.
Lately, however, the conversation and statistics have been shifting to social networking websites. The most heavily populated, Facebook, is said to have well over 325 million users world-wide. Some statistics about these websites and the amount of web traffic that they are delivering is amazing.
Web traffic to MSN, Yahoo, and AOL which are some very popular websites, have received about 13 percent of their web traffic from Facebook alone. Google, the most used search engine, only delivered about 7 percent to these websites. This is something to think about and to understand. So many experts tell you to focus on search engines and search engine optimization. I agree for the most part, however I strongly believe that even more important is using these major social networks to market your website or product to deliver and build web traffic to your website.
Nearly anyone with the internet is using at least one social network, and most people on a daily basis. If you want to grow your website and understand how to make it grow, you must understand and utilize these incredible social networking websites. I can’t stress enough how important they are if you want to be serious, and the amount of web traffic they can deliver. People talk about search engines which are a major form of website traffic and important to grow, but the numbers are swinging and showing that social networking websites are taking over in dominant fashion.
It is said that roughly 25 percent of all web traffic in the entire United States, starts from a social networking website. This number is composed of all social network websites combined but still is an insane amount of traffic online. Social networking websites, with friends and followers, tweets and quotes, links and recommendations, search boxes and favorites, are taking over and doing what search engines have dominated doing for several years now. This is basically skipping the step of or defeating the purpose of search engines altogether. The internet is changing everyday and people are learning to change and adapt to make the most out of it. This is important information to know and understand.
If you want more web traffic to your website, make sure to use social networking websites. These statistics do not lie and will only become even more favored to these websites in the future. These networking websites make it easy to market yourself or your website and seeing the web traffic stats currently, social networking marketing should be just about number one on your list.

Building web traffic consists of many factors. You must utilize tools to make the most out of your website’s traffic. You should study your website’s analytics with trial and error. Learn where most of your web traffic comes from and which web traffic is the highest quality with results.
Google Analytics is a very useful tool to tell you everything that you need to know and more about the web traffic of your website. It can tell you where you traffic is coming from, how long they are on your website, and a lot of other targeted information. You can view a one-day result or a long time period to figure out what you need to know. If you aren’t using analytics for your website, you are missing out on a lot of key information to help you analyze your web traffic.
All you have to do is go to the Google Analytics website and sign up. When you put in your website address, it will give you a code to copy and paste onto your website. Once you have done this, it will immediately track information that you can use to your advantage. Knowing where most of your web traffic comes from and how good each source of web traffic is for results on your website, you can build more web traffic by utilizing your main sources.
As you make changes to your website big or small, you can track performance and easily be able to tell what is working well and what changes are not performing well. This is vital to building maximum quality targeted web traffic to your website or blog.

One very effective way, for several reasons, to build web traffic is by article marketing. There are hundreds of article database websites out there filled with articles on any topic you can imagine. If you have a blog or website, you should be leveraging article marketing to help build web traffic to your website.
Article marketing is a very strong method. First, the top article websites have a great pagerank so your article if written properly should be listed quite well in the search engine results because of the rank of these article websites. If your keyword or niche is a little too competitive, and you can’t rank high for them, then using article websites can help you get a nice spot in search engine results that you couldn’t get otherwise.
When writing your article for article marketing, never duplicate content or just copy your article or anyone else’s. Search engines and some article websites can detect this and penalize you. It is ok to re-write the same articles but add something extra and word it all differently. You should submit each article you write on your website to these article directories to build more web traffic to your website.
My favorite article directory is Ezine Articles. It seems to be amongst the best, and most well-known article directories on the internet. It is very user friendly and easy to use. You write your articles, pick out your keywords or tags, state your source of information or website link, and submit. They will then either accept or reject your article based on several factors.
With article directory websites, as I stated, they have a high pagerank and lots of juice in the search engines. Don’t be surprised if you land an article in a prime search engine result spot for a competive niche that an article on your website wouldn’t have on it’s own. Your article can build web traffic to your website because the readers coming from the search engine who read your article will see a source or link on the bottom of your article. If they find your article or information useful and interesting, they will want to read more and find out what else you have to say about that or related topics and issues. When they click though to your website, you have a new reader on your website that would have never found your website otherwise. Another reason to use article marketing with article directory websites is simply to brand yourself. This gives yourself a name or brand to be known by. If people see you have many great articles on a top article directory, they will know that you are one of the experts in that niche. This gives yourself a better reputation and credibility to let people know who you are and what you know.
Article directory submissions is one of the strongest ways to market yourself and your website. It helps to build web traffic to your website and exposure to being an expert. If you are a writer, blogger, or run a company website, there should be no reason why you don’t take advantage of all that article marketing can offer you.

It is always nice to have someone come to your website, but how do you get them to come back again? Well it does help to have interesting and useful information or services on your website, but let’s look beyond that.
The top websites that have massive amounts of web traffic know how to keep readers coming back often by building web traffic. First of all, you should have an easy way for visitors to subscribe to your website or blog that covers all the major subscription options that many people use today. Having readers subscribe or bookmark your website or blog will build web traffic because the visitors will come back by easily finding your website. If web site visitors are subscribed to your website or bookmark your website you will get repeat web traffic that has them coming back more than just their first visit to keep updated in what you have to offer, thus adding to your web traffic and goals of your website.
If you don’t capture the interest of your website’s visitors by having useful content to offer them, and don’t have an easy way to subscribe to your website, you are missing out on major web traffic to your website. There is a reason that the top websites have so much traffic to their pages. A lot of it is the same people that keep coming back often to keep seeing what is new there. Once you use the value of easy subscription links, you will build a solid base of website visitors and build web traffic to your website.

Choosing the right keyword for a website is very important to the amount of web traffic a website receives from search engines. Your keyword should obviously be related to what your website is mainly about. However, it is much more complex than that. The ideal keyword for a website is related to that website, but also gets a lot of searches for that keyword and with little to medium competition. You have to do a bit of work to determine what keyword will give your website the most web traffic. It can be tricky to find a keyword that isn’t an overly competitive keyword but still gets a decent amount of searches performed for in the search engines. If you learn how to do so, you can reap the benefits of finding the perfect keyword for your website.
As the internet ages, thousands of new websites are made everyday grabbing new keywords and filling up the search engines. The age of a website does contribute to the ranking of a website in the search engine. This is why it is important to select and use the proper keyword as soon as possible to boost website traffic.
A great tool to find out several things about different keywords is the Google Adwords Keyword Tool. You can search a keyword or list of keywords and get a variety of helpful information for selecting a keyword for your website. When you use this, you are shown what other variations of that keyword are out there and may find a similar, yet better, keyword to use for your website. With your results you are also shown how many searches each keyword receives each month letting you know how many searches will be performed of your keyword of choice in the search engine. You can search for your keyword in a search engine and take a look at the results and learn a lot about what type of competition you will have for that particular keyword. You can use a pagerank checker to find out the pagerank of the top 5 websites currently listed for that keyword in the search engines. If those websites don’t look as good as yours, or have a low pagerank, you should use that keyword if you think your website can rank ahead of them in the search engines. Pagerank is just a small factor in search engine ranking but it is one way to tell how established another website is.
In conclusion, the keyword you choose is vital to the amount of web traffic from search engines and success of your website. It is ideal to find a keyword that has low to medium competition, but receives a lot of searches for that keyword. Doing your research and using the right tools, you can find the proper keyword and get your website at or near the top of search engine results for that particular word.
Ranking high in search engines can give you a massive amount of web traffic, thus giving your website the level of success that you desire.

What are backlinks and how to get backlinks? A backlink is an inbound or incoming link that goes to your website. This means that a link on another website directs back to your website. Backlinks are an important part of building website traffic for many reasons. First, anyone who is on another website and sees the link to your website and is interested in your site will click and visit your website. If the website that contains your link has a lot of web traffic, then you should get a fair share of people coming from that website to your website or blog if what you have to offer is interesting to those people. Another reason why backlinks are important has to do with SEO. (Search Engine Optimization) When search engines index the internet to determine what pages rank high, one of the top factors in ranking websites is the amount and quality of backlinks that point to your website. In google’s own words, a backlink is basically a vote for your website from another website. Backlinks are more powerful when the website that contains your website’s link has a high page rank. This means that the website that contains your link ranks well itself in the eyes of search engines. Backlinks are also more powerful when the website that contains your link is related to what your website is about. If the website with your link has nothing to do with what your website is about, it still counts but barely at all. Backlinks come from many methods such as a good comment on a website or another website voluntarily adding a link to your website because they like your content/website and think your website gives value to the readers of their website. So in knowing all of this, a website that ranks high with page-rank and is related to the topic or topics that your website or blog is about, will give you a strong appeal or “vote” in the view of the search engines determining where to rank your website in the search engine rankings. Backlinks will give you extra website traffic from people coming from those links but also help with more web traffic from search engines through SEO. The more backlinks that point to your website which are from related and high ranking websites, the better your own website will rank in the search engines and deliver more web traffic to your website or blog. You can also check how many backlinks your website has and from what websites the links are listed on by going to Google Webmaster Tools.

A very popular way that can be effective in bringing web traffic to your website or blog is using forums. Not only can you gain more web traffic but you might also learn a few things in the process that you did not already know. One thing that is important to your success is joining and using a forum that is related to your website’s niche or category. This keeps your efforts relevant and anyone whose attention is caught by you or your website is actually interested in the topic of your website. This gives targeted web traffic which is a must. You don’t want people stumbling upon your website with no interest in the content or products on your page. If the forum and topics are closely related to your website, it is easier to capture the attention of people and once they check out your website, these people are actually interested in what you have to offer. Targeted web traffic gives you repeat web traffic and better conversion rates/sales. Search for and use a few forums that are closely related to the category of your website or blog.
Once you join a forum or two that are related to your website you must learn to do the right things. Post a few threads of your own sharing your knowledge and information, not just plugging your website as you will seem desperate and gain no interest. You want to seem knowledgeable and unique by sharing related quality information to add to that given community. Once people read and see what you are sharing, they will be interested in what else you know or have to share and will follow through to your website. If you do post your link, do it in a tasteful manner by adding it as a signature below your name but only after a quality post that contributes to the community. Don’t write about your website. When you join most forums you can add your website address in a profile. If anyone finds your post useful or interesting they will click on your name and wind up seeing your website link and check out your page. In the forum also find questions or discussions related to your website or what you know a lot about. Answer these questions or add something useful to a discussion. Once again, if you seem educated about the topic readers will be intrigued with what else you know and follow up to your website. This is obviously targeted web traffic. Doing things the wrong way and coming off as just plugging your website can or will get you banned from many forums, but doing it the correct way by actually adding to and creating good discussions will give you a lot of web traffic. People will actually enjoy you being part of that forum community. You can also gain contacts and connections that help your website. Forums are vital to gaining free web traffic when used correctly, and as stated earlier, you most likely will learn some new things yourself in the process. Not only will you get web traffic but you will learn something new that you didn’t already know.

There is a main phrase or rule of thumb for getting exposure to your website or blog. “Content is king”. You may have heard it before. This phrase is said and repeated for a good reason. Content is the main information or articles within your website or blog. It is very important to have a lot of content that is high quality. When search engines check and index where your page will rank in search results, content is very important. The amount of content is taken in consideration and more important is the quality of your content. Is your content good, well-phrased, original/unique, interesting or helpful to readers, and easy to read? If you can confidently say yes to these questions, then you are doing the right thing.
You want to have a good amount of content but keep it short and to the point. Being unique helps as you don’t have as much competition and it becomes more interesting for your readers. Write your great content in a way that is geared towards your readers first. Some of the best content comes from websites that help people. You are sharing or offering a service to your readers so keep it simple and they will enjoy reading and learning something helpful. Having a lot of original/unique and well-written content gives your web traffic a boost. You will get better rankings in search engines and also your readers should enjoy your website and subscribe or join your website or blog. This will give you repeat visitors to your website which is important to have. Simply create as much content as you can. Keep it high-quality and unique. This is one of the most important web traffic tips. You will then enjoy a lot of extra web traffic to your website by doing this.
